here at the vet with my bub getting her checked out. everyone keeps telling me im gonna end up getting rid of her & putting her outside or something. it makes me worry because she is a very spoiled pitbull & makes me wonder if she'll be jealous of my lil one.. anyone else had a pitbull before they got pregnant? how were they around your baby? i could never get rid of her but in the other hand my child comes first.

I have 2 pitbulls one 12 and one 7 and both are awesome with kids. My 12 year old when I had my son 4 years ago could careless is there was a baby in the house and my now 7 year old female was actually very protective of me and my son. My mom had an American bull dog puppy who at 9 months old would try to jump on me all the time if my son was in my arms my pitbull would actually snap growl and push him down as If putting him in his place which was no where near me or the baby. She would never bite him just basically show he's not the dominant dog. Both my pitbulls grew up with us putting our hands in their dishes when eating so are never food aggressive even if it's a child and they would allow the kids in their face my son can play with their ears and can even feed them from his mouth. As long as they are trained properly to know their place in the family which mine are basically human with how they were trained you should be fine in the old days pitbulls were actually called nanny dogs because of their nature and nurturing way with children.

I have 2 pitbulls, I haven't had the baby yet but they're great with the other kids. Just like with any dog you'll have to introduce them to the scent first and then baby. Some say you can get a baby doll before to get them used to it, I'm just going to wait until she comes though. My SIL's friend just had a baby and we brought our oldest around her last weekend (17 mos), she was just very curious, kept trying to jump up to see her

i have 2 and i haven't had my baby yet, however. since I've become pregnant my female is more protective of me. and she is great with my niece and nephew (who are around a lot) she's very protective of them. pits are very loyal dogs as long as they are raised right. i started carrying a baby doll around all the time to get my pup used to me having something small all the time that isn't him.

just be careful don't leave the baby alone with the dogs but most people don't do that anyway you should be fine the circumstance may have been very different never truly know the environment where the dog was before could have been an abusive home

Mine are good until they hear one of my kids crying and then they start whining if they see someone they don't know approach my kids they will kind of growl under their breath to let them know those are their kids to protect and mine if me and my SO are play fighting will let us know their watching they whine until we stop
