it just depends on the person and how ready ur body is as with anything u use to induce herbally. I've only had a couple friends use it and one swears by it and the other still went past her due date. she was completely effaced but was barely dilating. I personally think it does help, it just depends on ur body

I took it starting at 35 weeks (as instructed by my midwife) and when I was checked at 38 weeks I was completely thinned. It just softens your cervix to help with dilation.

38 weeks doctor wants me to try and naturally induce this week. Next Tuesday I'm being medically induced. @shish
