It's really been one thing after another and now I'm stressed about my short time disability leave. Where I work if you've been there a year you're aloud to take 12 weeks maternity leave, 6 paid 6 unpaid. My doctor put I was due to start maternity leave as of April 4th. Apparently new management is taking over as of May 1st and they will not be offering the same benefits, according to them if I do physically have the baby by May 1st I'm not eligible for short term benefits. I'm wondering how that's even possible beings it was doctor ordered for my maternity leave to begin April 4th....headache after freaking headache

@mommyx2g, they could change the paid part of the leave but they can't take away the time off without saving your job unless it's reducing # of employees...

@mommyx2g, I'm very familiar w FMLA. I've had 2 hip replacements & was out for 90 days each time. If the size of the company isn't changing & you've met the required work hours, you should still be entitled to FMLA. I really hope that works out for you, please keep me posted!

Yes @angiek that's who told me I needed to have the baby by May 1st. I'm going to a meeting tomorrow the new management is having.

@mommyx2g, have you spoken with your HR department? That doesn't sound right...even if new management is taking over...is it FMLA you are using?
