for the momma's that got an epidural, did it numb u enough down there where u didn't really feel baby come out, like all that stretching and what not??
Oh yes it definitely helped but unfortunately stopped my labor 😭 I've heard primrose helps, or I know it's awkward, but message and pull downward with your thumbs down there everyday
I think my biggest fear is the stretching down there BC when I got checked for dilation today I about cried cuz it hurt so bad. I was gripping the table and almost punched my doc. so I was hoping the epidural would numb that area @zaysmomma
But my hospital also had a button that you could press on your own every 20 min to give u more
My water broke at 4 cm. I got the epidural cuz my contractions were a min apart and after that it stopped my labor and I had to go into a c section. After 10 hours I hadn't dilated a bit so do wait as long as possible for it!
thank you ladies @norcalmomma , @valrocks , and @vivalakats I'm so sorry momma.
not everyones epidural slows things. It helped mine. I went from 5 to 10 in an hr vs before taking 10 hrs to go 2 cm. Each person is different. You still feel the baby come out but it's less pain than with out. I've had three each way ,with and with out.
I had a pump. They leave a catheter in and had medication being fed so I would stay numb.
You're supposed to wait it out for a while if you can. Epidurals slow everything down. I went in at 5cm at 8:30am, was 7 cm by 10:30, had the epidural around 11 and had my son at 5:58pm. Nurse said I would have had him hours before if I didn't have the epidural. If your epidural slows everything too bad they'll give you pitocin and all that. I didn't need it but they were close to giving it. The longer you wait for the epidural the less you will wait for your baby.
I haven't done it yet but from what I've heard and been told by my nurse practitioner. It depends on the dr and the hospital what protocol they use. The hospital I'm using gives you a pump so if you want to increase the dosage it's up to you depending on your comfort level.
Nope. It didn't work for me when it was time to push, I think mainly because they put it too early so by the time I had to push it had worn out already and I felt EVERYTHING! even when the doc stitched up my tear 😞😢
it's didn't completely numb me. I could feel a ton of pressure. It was enough to give me the urge to push. I did feel some of the stretching and when his shoulders finally passed I could feel a huge relief and the tearing. It was awesome for my back labor roo bur when I started pushing I could feel that too just no where near as bad.
Until u know what another parent is going through, dont judge.cause if they didn't need the money, they wouldn't sell the food. U just never know another person situation.
