Any RH Negative lady's out there? I'm just really confused by it. At the first sign of bleeding this pregnancy I was given the Rhogam shot. I had a miscarriage 2 days after & now worried if I need another Rhogam Shot. Has anyone had a similar experience?

@waderlust11, I'm Rh negative... we have a very rare blood type do to the fact that our body dose not produce the protein know as RH!! that is suppose to be in our blood...because we are a negative blood type chances are we will bare children with positive blood types which is where the rhogam shot comes in i have two healthy children 8 and 9. im pregnant with my third now i also experienced bleeding at the beginning of two of my pregnancies. we receive the shot three times throughout pregnancy. i hope this helps you!

SarahМама дочки (5 лет), беременна (36 нед.)

I am RH neg, had a shot with my first as soon as I found out I was preggo, another shot of rogam at the beginning of my 3rd trimester and one more the day I delivered. With this pregnancy, I had ALOT of bleeding around 6 weeks (before my first on appointment), went to L&D and was given the rogam shot again after they confirmed that the there was still a heartbeat. Thankfully everything worked out. I got another shot at the beginning of my 3rd trimester and I will probably end up getting one when I deliver again. My OB explained it to me that being RH neg and having a baby that is a positive blood type makes your body attack the baby as a "foreign object" (much like when you are sick and your body attacks the virus) and it can cause a miscarriage. However, the shot of rogam tricks your body into thinking the baby also has a neg blood type. Not sure if you need another shot of rogam being that you had a miscarriage. I'm sorry for your loss. Stay strong!
