@lezette, absolutely safe. my midwife suggested them after a cervical exam. she expected it to take longer than a week to start dilating. she said 2 orally in the am and 3 vaginally at night. (wear a pad cause oil stains)

i agree with @mamaof06 I used it for about a week with my last pregnancy I dilated quickly and she was born with one push. it also helps prevent tears as well.
