I am applying for Medicaid but I wanted to get an appointment in for next week just to check on things and get some answers about a few things but I won't have any Medicaid insurance for at least 2 weeks after they get my application so I asked the lady how much it would be to pay out of pocket for my first visit @cammommy504 @hermommy

Medicaid ( here in New Orleans) pays for previous care. ask your doctor's office if they offer that option to see you and let Medicaid take care of back pay ( that's if Medicaid offers that out where you are)

Texas Medicaid pays for 3 months prior care as well as you can call a number or go into your office and get temporary Medicaid as long as you have a proof of pregnancy from like a free clinic or something. I didn't have to wait long for my Medicaid.

@canaryv, you can also download the your texas benefits app and take a pic of your proof of pregnancy and it pushes your medicaid thur faster

You automatically qualify for women's Medicaid if you are pregnant in the state of Texas they pay for everything as long as the ob and hospital you choose accepts Medicaid

I got Medicaid in less than a week...they called my job and confirmed my pay, called me to pick a plan and then sent my card. A friend of mine went to a Christian based place and they gave her medical care for free until Medicaid took over. My first appt was $750 but I paid $10 with my insurance

It took me longer when I applied with my first pregnancy but we'll see how it goes this time around. I went to a early pregnancy clinic but they only confirm pregnancy and give you an ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy is viable. I haven't found any other places to help with the actual prenatal care. @green7dusty
