from everything I've heard/read there will be a lot of people in the delivery room which makes me really uncomfortable. people say I won't care but if I know myself at all I will definitely care. Can I tell non essential staff to get out? I don't want to be rude but if a gaggle of nursing students walks in I will die.

No students in my room, but most hospital's you have a nurse for you, a nurse for your baby, your Dr and if the Dr for babies is there they come in. My mom said there were 5 people in the room not including my husband, mom, and sister. I didn't even notice and I'm the type of person who would freak out. In the moment I didn't care, I just wanted the pain to stop and my baby to be in my arms!

they usually ask you if students are ok.... I had them ask me when the students were there both times after my c-section... I said it was ok, the first time I knew my student nurse and this time a cousin of mine was their instructor

I'm pretty sure they have to get permission from you before students can come in during delivery. It's unsanitary and dangerous to have a bunch of people on the room while you are delivering.

I had 2 nurses, the doctor and my husband. Once baby was born a lot more people came in really quick...it was weird, I'm thinking a clean up crew. I was so excited and happy I didn't even notice. They were gone so fast!!

@marimbarose, I only had the midwife & 1 or 2 nurses I believe. No students.
