Spoke with my doctor today about my thoughts on doing a water birth and he was soooooo against it 😢 🚫👶🌊
He said there is a reason there is only "1" Doctor in Las Vegas that does it,
because its "unsanitary" and basically No other doctor agrees with it.
The fact that when im pushing I MIGHT poop and the baby MIGHT swallow the water && If there is an emergency I would have to wait for the water to go down in the tub before I can get out.
ugh....Im a little Burt hurt 😥
He said "Sorry I will not be delivering your bundle of joy if thats what you want to do"
OK an imbox me any questions u need answered oh and by the way u get great support during labor way more then in hospital
@boricuacurls, also doctors don't get paid for water births etc so way less pay check
if u have any questions about it let me know and i can get any info u want from the nurses and midwifes for u
many do water births and it's not unsanitary and if u had an emergency u would be having to wait till the water goes down I know many friends who are midwifes and doulas. and when a baby is underwater during birth they don't take a breath till they come up and out of water and as soon as air hits they cry and open mouth to cry many doctors fine any excuse etc to get a woman to not to due water births and it's actually a total natural thing and calming for u and baby.
It's basically just sitting in a jetted tub or regular bathtub while you labor. It's definitely something to ask about. And if your doctors not supportive of your choices don't be afraid to look for a new one. You should feel confident and comfortable when you go into labor and birth your beautiful child. Nothing should make you feel as though you're not supported.
@carterclaytonb, @lijro. I've never even heard of that method ...and my dr. didnt bring that option up to me
My hospital simply won't do a water birth. They'll do hydrotherapy, however. Is that an option for you? *hugs*
@boricuacurls,
