There have been a few local cases of whooping cough very close together so I have been very weary of who I go around and who my child goes around. Well, this girl I went to school with who has a two year old messaged me asking me if I'd like to hang out today and I told her I would love to but I asked if her daughter was vaccinated. She said "no , I'm against them. why does that matter" and I explained that I didn't feel comfortable taking my 4 month old around children who had not been vaccinated given the recent circumstances in our area... She then blocked me? I didn't belittle her decision or say anything rude I don't believe, I'm just wondering if I was wrong in my response. Responses are welcome from anti vax and pro vax parents, I'm just wondering if you would be so offended as to block someone. I wouldn't have been.

I totally understand. its one thing to have an opinion but its not right to bash others or be unkind for not sharing the same opinion as you.

@mommyandbriston I totally understand where you coming from but as a mommy and a person I am pro-vax, I believe we all have a choice in the matter but we need to be more mindful of peoples decisions, I think she was way out of line I. the way she responded to what was said. I think you handled it perfectly
Vaxtruth actually has been exposed as an unreliable non-credible website. @gab044 . And the cdc proofs their website and this is the most recent DTaP article. But it's not so much a vaccine work or not argument, it's the fact anti-vax parents expect people to tolerate their choices but can't tolerate the choice of a vax parent not bringing their child around theirs in a time of outbreak. I don't belittle anyone's choices in the matter (unless it will directly effect my child) and I expect other moms to understand as well, Ya know? @bellasmommy516 @hermommy

you were not in the wrong at all. she just obviously doesn't respect your decision. its just as much your choice to vaccinate your child as is hers to not vaccinate. Just because she doesn't agree with what your choice is doesn't mean she has to behave that way.
if you go on vaxtruth.org theres a briefing by the CDC saying that the whooping cough epidemic has nothing to do with non vaccinated people. vaccinated children and adults are getting it because the vaccine has not been proven or tested for efficacy. I believe she overreacted though. sometimes you just have to accept shot and move on. she acted childishly.
