I dont know If i want to choose induction or Csection? Do C sections limit the number of children…

@cubanese im making sure her placenta moved today, but i get to choose if i want a csection or if i want to be induced

A lot of induction end up c section. Sometimes even when the doctors push your body into labor it still doesn't respond which is when a c-section is performed. Let's hope the placenta has moved up and you won't have to worry about that right now

@karnamarie I still have to choose, one of the two will be done July 21 unless she comes on her own

C sections don't limit how many babies you can have. However they say after a c section you must wait a year before getting pregnant again to insure you're fully healed. If you have a c section 2x you will always have a c section.

I am will have my second c section in October. I wasn't told that it would limit how many kids I have. given they are spaced far enough apart I see no reason for complications continuing to have children.

I've had 3 csections Dr said with the scaring it wouldn't be wise to have another I got my tubes tied in kinda sad that I won't have any more um grateful to have been able to experience pregnancy again 8 years later I never thought I'd actually have another baby @hermommy

Recovery is about 3-6wks as long as everything goes well with healing. Yes you'll be able to pick her up. Not the first day probably but definitely after that you will be able to

recovery time is different for each person. it also depends on how your surgery goes. I held my daughter as soon as they put me in my room

I had a c-section and honesty my opinion i would of rather had him natural. it totally sucked for me. @hermommy

You're welcome. I will say if you have a c section prepare yourself for a painful recovery. It'll hurt pretty bad for the first week at least

I will tell you I chose a c-section with my second pregnancy. The doctor told me because of my daughters size and my history with my first delivery he was going to have to cut me so I got to pick where. If you go I and have a scheduled c-section it's not as bad as an emergency c-section. You are rested and not in labor so your recovery is easier. I ended choosing correctly because my daughter was breeched and no one knew til I was open on the table. There isn't a limit and you can always have a VBAC if the second pregnancy doesn't have the same issues. Recovery from a c-section in a mfer the first couple days but I recovered quicker from that then my 18 hrs of labor 1h 45 min pushing and then a full episiotomy and my son was pulled out by forceps. It really comes down to how opposed to a c-section you are. Whether it is a last resort or not

C-sections increase the risk of miscarriage because the baby can implant on the scar. and some Drs don't like to let you have a natural birth after having one

I would say definitely ask your doctor as many questions as possible about c-sections. I have a patient (I'm a drug counselor) who has had 4 children all C-section and she has to get her tubes tied after this one because the doctor said it is not safe for her or the baby anymore and he really didn't think the one she's having was a good idea due to fact that the incision is longer each time. I know you want a big family so I would ask. I would even see your possibilities of having a vaginal birth after this one just in case you do end up having a c-section. You can also see if your doctor could induce you with a foley instead of with medicine. I heard it lowers the risk of a c-section happening.

@haniyyah90 what's a foley!? I definitely want to ask about that and try everything before going to a medicated induction or c section that you so much for bringing that up

You're welcome. A foley is like a balloon attached to a tube and they blow it up and put it in your cervix. I believe the nurse will tug on it every hour until it falls out and once it falls out you're about 8 cm.

@haniyyah90 that sounds so much better than pitocin that you so much I will ask him as soon as they call

Just be prepared for anything if you choose induction. I was induced with a foley ball and a pill then pitocin and after 60 hours I ended up with a c section. The foley ball only gets you to dilate to 4 cm before it comes out so you normally have to have other meds with it. And it hurts like hell!

@ella1007 I probably won't make it to induction he's stripping my membranes in week 37 but also I believe I'll dilate on my own

I hope you do! I had my membranes swept and tried all the safe home remedies and induction but ms Aubrey had other plans lol
