Just left my 39 week appointment. I'm frustrated. She couldn't reach my cervix to do a sweep. I'm not dilated. She left the option of induction up to me, but they'd have to use some type of mechanical dilation similar to a balloon, plus pitocin to dilate me. Induction is not what I want. I'm tired of waiting with no progress, though. I'm really discouraged

@aj33, Once she said that, I decided that being induced is a no go for me. She's not for induction, but she said it'd have to be a mechanical induction if I decided to do so. I'm not sure why. I guess I'll just wait it out. I haven't had ONE SINGLE contraction. 😒

I'm sure n the same boat, but I've never heard of anything with a damn balloon!!!
that seems odd to me. I wasn't dialated and they just gave me pictocen. did she have anyone else try to do a membrane sweep? sometimes they can pull the cervix closer
