If I tell my obgyn that I'm not sleeping will he prescribe me something to help?

Maybe , maybe not. have you tried benadryl. . it makes a lot of people sleepy and it's safe.

Nope. At least he shouldn't. You can try small dosages of melatonin or benadryl. Unisom (over the counter sleep aid) is basically 2 benadryl pills. You can try that. Melatonin doesn't usually work for me but it has since I've been pregnant.

i was prescribed sleeping pills when i had my first. it all depends on what the doctor is comfortable with doing.

Unisom is the same ingredient as benadryl unfortunately it's just double the dosage. Try a little melatonin.

Is that over the counter too? I'm just trying to get my schedule back to normal.. @jana.bear

@rockysmommy, I've been taking half a unisom my whole pregnancy and its helped alot and it was recommended by my Dr. he also told me I could take melatonin.

My doctor prescribed me sleeping pills to help after I got admitted to the hospital because my insomnia got so bad. Honestly if it wasn't for my prescription I probably wouldn't be able to sleep.

Benadryl sometimes works and other times I'm wide awake wondering If I actually took one, lol.
