So between my family, boyfriends family and our friends I have about 150-160 people written down for the shower. Not that everyone will come, because I know I few already can't make it but I wrote them down to send an invitation anyway.
Question is, to feed all these people is hamburgers and hot dogs the cheapest route? catering? Pizza, or barbecue?
we're doing hamburger and hotdogs. but our local store has a 5 for $25 in meat department. so we can get 5 $8.5 things of hamburger or mix up hamburger with hotdog packs if they have them. I would look into what has sales or deals going on around the date of the shower. But I'm a cheap person. lol
for my 1st shower around 100 people came throughout the day. I have a big family, lots of friends and people from church. my mil and God mother each made some chicken. we had rice beans salad fruit and a big dessert bar. my shower started late so I knew people would be hungry. but if you have it early you can do brunch or a light lunch.. sandwiches fresh salads ( macaroni or potato) fruit. to be honest this time around I might cater bc you don't have to move a finger in the kitchen.. lol
@supermommy31082, hahah that's what my boyfriends mom said! But it's really just a head count because I know people will bring their kids and what not so I don't want to be surprised if there's a lot of people walking around
if you do Dominos it's 10 pizzas large 1 topping for 6.50 each.! I used to work there lol
I always think spaghetti and salad is easy and inexpensive. Spaghetti pack is one dollar each sauce 1.50 each ground beef 4.50 each feeds potentially 5-7 people for 7 dollars.. Means 150 people/ 7 people per batch means 21 batches (approx) 21 batches times 7 dollars per batch equals $150 dollars 150 dollars equals approx a dollar per person to feed. This doesn't include salad of course., but this also doesn't include the fact that buying items like meat and sauce in bulk lowers the price. Also make more then needed so tag on an extra two batches which equal 14 dollars you have fed all those people for less then 2 dollars each
I think a pasta or spaghetti would be a more affordable route to go... Pasta stretches and gets ppl full ... Can always add to the pasta to make it heartier (such as veggies) ... And serve with a salad and maybe garlic bread... Or rolls ...
