Ugh. I've been stuck 3 times and they still can't find my vein. How hard is it? I completely show…

is it a nurse that's sticking you? I always ask for a lab tech because if someone is a hard stick or they can't get the vein, they call lab techs to get it. I've been called up from the lab multiple times for bard sticks when nurses couldn't get it

I went to the ER a while back and the lady was like 'oh, I hope I don't blow your vein haha.' She blew two veins and they had to do an IV in my hand

They are trying to get an iv in. She just stuck me again and didn't get anything. This is not how my day is supposed to be. She said she's going to call anesthesia so they can do it. In my head I'm like maybe you should try a smaller needle but she's so adamant about using a damn 18 because she said anesthesia needs the bigger opening @mommagotbump16

I hate an iv in my hand so I wouldn't let them go there. @msj1996

@shevy41906, I work in day surgery, and unfortunately, she's right. They do need a bigger line for meds and fluids, plus for emergent situations. I'm sorry hon.
