My baby has recently started eating baby food. She's had no allergic reactions so far. I know the symptoms of a reaction but I'm curious how long after eating a food would a reaction occur. Can anyone tell me?

pretty quickly. I've had two severe reactions that almosy killed me because the first one i had no idea what was going on. started with hives and a slight wheeze, then my eyes started swelling shut, then the throat and mouth swelled almost shut. if it does happen, call 911 immediately, seriously. it can happen that fast. its scary when it happens but very easily detectable.
@pixiestix, Thanks. So far out baby hasn't had any and no one in either my family or my SO's family have food allergies so we were unsure how fast symptoms would show

no later than an hour or two after eating the food you would see the signs of a reaction. would likely start with hives, into slight swelling around lips or eyes, and then progressively gets worse and can get bac very quickly.
you feed them the same new food 3 days in a row. if it would happen it would be in that time period don't mix alot of new foods or you won't know which it is if there is a reaction.

Pretty quick I think. Try one food for at least 4 days before introducing a new one.
