Starting solids before 6 months has the potential to wreak havoc on their insides, it doesn't always but the possibility is still there. Personally I would get a second opinion
my daughter's pedi didn't even specify just said to give her solids...at 3 month old. I still waited though just because I didn't feel comfortable giving them to her that early.
Solid foods aren’t as nutritious as breast milk or formula. Solid food can be lower in good nutrition and higher in calories, which can cause obesity.
Solid foods are harder to swallow. A baby may not be developed enough to swallow solid food properly before the age of 6 months.
Solid food may increase the risk of health problems. Solid food given too early may cause allergies and eczema, and researchers say there may be a link to chronic diseases like diabetes and celiac disease.
Just something to ponder on the WHO which is the international women's health organization doesn't recommend starting or introducing solids even if they're smushed until about six months
I gave my 2 girls cereal and milk out of a spoon starting at 2 months. They then went to fruit and cereal at 3 months for breakfast once a day. At 4 months they got fruit and cereal for breakfast and fruit for lunch. At 6 months they were eating 3 meals a day and bottles in between. Perfectly healthy kids who are still considered "normal weight and height" all their Drs have told me they weren't ready and everything else. At the end of the day it's your child and you have to decide what you feel is right for them.
@ashsloan I will talk to her Pedi, just wanted to know what other moms Pedi's said. I trust hers. I was giving stuff when I was young and I'm fine. Thank you though
my son's Dr told.me.to start babu food at 4 months or make mine.own at that time.i started at 3&1/2 months cause he was ready and he got more satisfied with food and milk
@jenn61115 @irishtwinmom13 @tamayobaby thank yall ladies:) I figured he was right but I just wanted to ask what the others have said 5 of them said the same thing
i did just as @jenn61115 did.. my daughter grew up loving veggies and fruits.. i believe it's because she was introduced early.. shes a healthy 3 yr old.. absolutely no health problems.. her pedi told me as long as she has good had control then I'm fine to feed her solids..
@mommybug, the 10 month old loves veggies more than fruits. Except bananas. She can eat bananas all day. She had really bad acid reflux when she was born so it was easier for her to keep solids down too.
@jenn61115 I'm not gonna say my 3 yr old doesn't like candy BUT she will always choose broccoli and any fruits especially banana over any type of junk food.. her weight is perfect according to her pedi and her height is above average but that has nothing to do with her eating lol.. i started with the cereal in her milk a bit earlier than 2 months because she was eating 4 oz ever 2 hrs.. from birth.. but her food intake was similar to how you fed your girls

@ashsloan every doctor in his practice they are all highly respected said the same, they don't say feed them just that, just to start introducing it
