if she lives in the house then I agee.. I know I can't be as strict with my fiancés mom because she has a suppressed immune system due to lupus and can't get vaccinated, but she will be washing thoroughly and using germx

@aphrodite2014, she does love with us. And the reason why she will not get it is because she doesn't want to spend the 65$ to do it cause she won't get health insurance. If she had a medical reason it'd be different. Like my gmom is allergic to the vaccine so she cannot but she isn't upset about not being able to be so close at first cause she understands. His mom just is being selfish and is honestly waiting till my family offers to pay for it.

wow.. heath insurance is pretty important you can get fined from the government now for not having it, and I think a 65$ shot is worth a child's life that's for sure, but maybe you can see if there are any clinics around the area that occasionally do free shots sometimes they do.. and yeah I hear where you coming from for sure! I'd have a problem and I wouldn't let your family pay for something she should want to do to keep her grand baby alive.. whooping cough is extremely deadly in infants..

@aphrodite2014, exactly. And my mom just printed out a article about Whooping cough so I can just leave it on the table. And if it comes down to my parents having to pay for it, it's for their grandchild not for her. And she HAS to pay them back.

yeah I wouldn't expect the money back if you do go that route. there are YouTube videos too she should see.. it's heartbreaking to see an infant try so hard to breath but can't because they are coughing

@aphrodite2014, another thing I brought up is God forbid he got anything I'm the one that will be spending hours in the hospital and the hours watching him. And I would move out with him and would never be able to forgive her if he ever caught anything. It can be prevented and if she doesn't want to take the steps to prevent it, then she simply cannot hold and care for him. Plain and simple. I'm done being scared of hurting people's feeling when it comes to my choices for MY child

@samijoy, I agree.. and honestly it's most effective if they have gotten it at least a few weeks before the baby comes so their body has time to make antibodies to it
