I have an appointment monday! Hubby and I are meeting our Doctor for the first time I'll be 17 weeks, the doctor is going to ask if we wanna test for abnormalities, extra chromosone, etc.. I heard they're some riskd, what are your guys options in doing the tests?

My husband wanted to know if our baby had anything but I didn't because I knew it would make me stress. I ended up doing the tests but he read the results first. Everything turned out fine for us

Do they do a shot threw the stomach to get the amniotic fluid or can they draw blood?

so they would just draw my blood? it would harm the baby right?

they only do the shot threw the stomach of you test positive for for something then they ask if you want to do more extensive testing or if your an older women that may be at higher risk of having a child with disabilities.

I wasn't told it was a blood test. I was told.if I wanted to do the test it's a needle to the tummy. I said nay nay to that!and my baby is perfect
