Braxton hicks contractions are "practice contractions". It is the body prepping, but they don't actually have any effect on dilation or progressing labor. They can be painful or uncomfortable, but many first time moms don't even notice them. I didn't notice them in my first pregnancy, but I had a ton of them in this second one and they are uncomfortable this time.

Yup sounds like my Braxtons Hicks contractions. Started pretty early with this pregnancy.

Braxton hicks will do that. I've been having them for weeks and it's getting irritating cuz it makes me feel like I have to pee lol
