how worried should I be about the Zika virus?? my mom calls me everyday and cries that she doesn't want me to get it with my first born child. how many other mommiestobe have this as a first priority?

I have been using Johnson's Aloe Vera Baby Lotion which I heard prevents mosquitoes. It is actually going for almost $30 on the internet now because it has become so popular for this. I got mine from Target or Wal-Mart for $5.

@pandabby805, possible you could get it. Protect yourself always by wearing. Safe mosquito repellent. Safe being an natural one. You don't want to be using chemicals when you're pregnant and stay away from water. Like standing in puddles. Lakes pools etc
The zika virus hasn't actually been found in the US. The people who have had it in the US, got it from being in a different country. Also they don't have any real way to prevent this except for whatever you would normally do to prevent mosquitoes. I don't want to use Off spray or anything with chemicals while pregnant so I have been looking into other natural ish ways to prevent mosquitoes.
@dani8, definitely, I'm not really worried about it lol its my mom. she's honestly been freaking me out since day one...
@4xmeislove, it's supposedly a virus that mosquitoes carry and if they bite you the baby can come out half developed
It has yet to be proven the mosquitoes that carry Zika Virus have made their way to the United States. People who have been to other countries are the ones who have been infected! I wouldn't worry tooo much, but definitely take necessary precautions if you stress about it!! @pandabby805

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...

My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?

I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
