Does anyone have experience in getting Medicaid for their babies? I was told that you can't apply for it for your unborn…

@vivalakats, you dont have to wait in fl..i applied for pregnancy medicaid and i was approved in january i was only 6 weeks then and they approved the peanut in my belly and my 7 yr old son as well..and i already recieved a medicaid gold card that says baby of tanya Ramirez.. so my peanut alreasy has medicaid and is cover until January 2017 im due in september! but after the baby is born he will get a new medicaid card woth his name on it..@xariansmom516, you may not need prwgnamcy medicaid but its always good to have.. i have blue cross blue shield federal so its really good insurance but whatever copays or meds or anything blue cross doesnt cover medicaid covers so i never have to pay for any of my appointment or meds and now i won't have to pay a xopay to have my lil man circumsized!

Yeah here in Florida you have to wait. But usually the social worker that visits you at the hospital when the baby is born tells u what to do. In the meantime he'll have emergency Medicaid that will cover any expenses while baby is at hospital

you apply under pregnancy medicaid when baby born call and it'll go to baby and taken away from you....I haven't ever heard you have to wait, but that's how I did with my 1st born. may vary from state to state.

I had to wait until he was born I called the medicad ppl and told them he was born his pediatricians name and added him to my plan

I got mine already a month before he's even born. But it just says infant with my last name I'll get his real one once he's born it's so I can use it temporarily for his doctors appointments. But every state is different I guess @xariansmom516

You'd have to wait until the baby is born, & bring his or her crib card & I any other proof
