Has anyone had a water birth? If so please tell me about it.
I wanted a water birth, but being as I was having twins and then became high risk it went out the window. I've heard that there's a risk of infection after your water breaks. Which is why hospitals w laboring tubs are just for labor. Once your water breaks they want you out. I don't think the risk of infection is very high. I'd just ask your midwife about the risk of infection. I think they're perfectly safe, and I am secretly jealous of anyone who can have one. 😏
I don't really agree with the fact of it being unsafe, my hospital just won't allow it. Kinda strange, I've never heard of an entire L&D place being closed off to it.
What's not safe about it? @olivia1 I've heard nothing but great things plus a friend of mine just recently had a water birth and it went great!
My moms friend has had 6 water births, all at home, with a midwife present, and she has never had any issues/complications/etc.
