Any tips on how to get a spoiled pup ready for baby? He's 5 years old and SUPER attached to me. I know to take something home that the baby is wearing at the hospital and put it near him before we come home for good, but any other helpful tips that I can start now?

actually, if you give him extra attention, that gets them accustomed to more attention. it's gonna be a shock when you come home and he gets maybe half of the attention you're giving him now. I was on pinterest and that helped me figure out how to do it with our two dogs. let your dog sniff everything out, if you have items that are gonna make noise or baby is gonna make noise with, start getting him used to those noises. I'll go find the link to the blog I read

Haha it won't, it's a little tricky first couple days but as long as you're still showing him the love he'll be okay 😊 my dogs are the same way and I think it's awesome bc all the love makes them that much better with baby.

@ashsanta, I give him tonsssss of attention :) he comes to work with me, sleeps under the covers and shares my pillow with me, and sits outside of the shower while I'm in it just to name a few ways haha he's an overly spoiled goober and I don't want that to change

As of for right now just let him sniff out babies room and babies things, I set my things up kind of early so they would be used to it

Just make sure to give him extra attention.. It'll be hard but it'll make it easier for him, my husband would bring a blnaket or hat or something baby had on home while he showered to let the dogs smell on him, also we would split our dogs feedings up so in their mind they think they're being fed more... When baby gets home make sure to let them sniff baby out obviously keeping a close eye on them, don't keep them away from baby, My dogs are super attached to me also and this seemed to help a lot, they are so good with my son and were when we brought him home..
