The vet may be able to give her anti anxiety meds. I had a cat on buspar before. It helped a lot

put her in a kennel every time she is left unattended. put a dog bed in it for comfort.

No problem! just please please please don't give up on her!! She's just scared and trying to adjust. 💕 We rescued a dog back in October that my friend had seen get thrown out of a car; she didn't adjust well at all to our pugs and my boyfriend wasn't used to rescue animals and didn't have the patience so he made me give her back. 😪😪 I regret it every day! She was so sweet, just extremely scared and not used to being loved.

Crate training will probably be your best bet! Just make it a place she enjoys being in; it'll probably be a little difficult at first because she'll be scared but just keep at it and keep her in there for as short a time as possible! We always put toys in there and a bone, as well as one of our old pillows for them to lay on to make sure it's a place that they like being.

That's how my pit is, the owners tased her, so she's very sketchy and gets nervous if she feels like she's in trouble, but she's kennel trained and everything but I reward her if I have to put her in there, we kinda got lucky our house has a mud room " like a back room porch that's in closed" so I've actually been able to put her back there and her not mess anything up! her kennel is back there too just open so she lays in it! I also read that when you have the baby, while your still in the hospital have someone bring like a blanket or clothes the baby has wore to let the dog get the scent of the baby!

@courtney017, oh I don't mean she's a bad dog I just mean avert her attention to a positive thing like a nice juicy meaty bone so she doesn't get so anxious while you are gone. My dogs are good dogs too they just were very neglected before we got them so for a while they would all ban together and howl. All three are rescues.

@littlemissrainesmommy Thank you! she's a really good dog but she gets nervous because of her past with being left behind and abused. I wish I could find her old owners and do to them what they did to her

crate train!!! we've had to start over again with our youngest! she's starting to learn again... it takes time a lot of patience.. but I hope it works for you

@babes87101116 I have an old shirt that I put on here when we left one time I had only worn it once and she was fine when we got back but we were only home for about 10 minutes. we were gone for about an hour and a half today

Put a shirt that smells like you in the crate, and make it fun to go in there. A favorite treat or toy every time she goes in, and a treat/rewarding game when she comes out. Fun fun fun!!!!!

My dog freaks out in the kennel for a good hour and then calms down and curls up. He's got lots of blankie and I give him a treat when he goes in and comes out. He's crated with a smaller 20 lb dog and that has helped a lot too. So he has a crate buddy.

Definitely would give crate training a try.

My dog was extremely abused at well. The crate has kept him from getting into trouble and injuring himself.

Have you tried the jackets they sell or giving the dog a blanket with you guys scent on it

Get a meaty bone. They are gross looking cause they are still juicy and still have meat on them but that might help avert her attention while you are gone for a short time. That's what we do with our dogs they would sit at our door and howl and cry and scream like we were torturing them! It was awful then we started giving them treats and bones and it was like they completely forgot about us until we got home.

I highly recommend crate training. My mutt has severe anxiety and destroys stuff. This way he's safe and I don't have to worry about my house being wrecked. You can find a lot of literature about crating online.
