I'm being induced Monday morning and I've decided against the epidural. Can anyone give me some advice to get me through labor with no meds? I'm a ftm and the closer I get the more I'm scared of the pain.
I was induced and refused the epidural so the best advice I can give is have someone rub your back during your contractions also have someone or something to focus on through each contraction that helped me
Leave the option open. I was completely against getting any meds and gave in. I think my biggest problem was not thinking of a single thing I learned about how to get through contractions and back labor. Refresh your mind or even come up with your own way to get through them whether it's singing something or playing a game on your phone or simply squeezing someone's hand and breathing. Make sure you breath! I held my breath a few times for some reason and it make them worse.
I gave birth Saturday without meds and a huge help was my cousin fanning me during and in between contractions, she also put a damp paper towel to my forehead and face and it made me feel a ton better.
