Has anyone here heard of "macrophage activation syndrome" and be able to tell me exactly what that means... I got Taylynns death certificate in the mail yesterday and that was listed as one of the 4 causes but I had never heard the doctors say anything about it. I've tried googling it but that was no help. I didn't understand anything it said.

@wiccanmommy, the doctors did give her some type of medicine to try and calm her immune system down because they said she was trying to fight the infection to hard and it was causing the damage to her organs so that makes sense. Thank you!
I can do more reading if you are have more questions. I understand the medical lingo but may not know all of what it's saying.
basically it's the immune system attaching the body.. it's overactive but the body isn't able to combat it. looks like there are many body functions affected by it also.
