Ugh okay, TMI coming up!!!

Ugh okay, TMI coming up!!!

I just went to the bathroom and wiped and had a HUGE blood clot (I'm on my period)!!! Eww it was big and slimey and holy cow I've had big clots before but damn lol....anyways, despite this I didn't even have bad cramps today! I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea for my period and today I drank some Milkmaid tea just for the hell of it and NO CRAMPS! I read the ingredients and there's raspberry leaf in the Milkmaid tea! Raspberry leaf is AMAZING! I still say it was a big help during my pregnancy as well! Once in active labor (which starts at 4cm dilation), it only took an hour and a half to have her, that is hella quick for a first time mom so I'm thinking the tea helped 😉

I drank the red raspberry leaf tea religiously and still had a 36 hour labor lol!! it's supposed to create strong healthy contractions, I definitely got that, just not progressive ones LOL

Hahaha well it worked for me! Everyone is different though and I definitely realize that! I drank 3 bags per day from 31 weeks as well, it takes several weeks to build up in your system 😉 @kattastrophe

I started at 30 weeks and started at 1 a day, up to 3 a day by 35.... but who knows, maybe my labor could've been 2x as long without it!!

Haha very true! I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, and who knows, my body could just be naturally efficient at birthing babies! lol it definitely doesn't run in the family, my mom was in labor 20+ hours with my brother and 2 hours pushing, and I was 2 months premature, dunno how long it took but she said that it was too late to stop the labor so they induced to get me out faster....my brother's wife was induced at 39 weeks because she had a stroke as a kid and heart surgeries, and even though her health was totally fine her doc was paranoid....she was on pitocin for a day, and she didn't dilate AT ALL, so they gave her the option to either keep trying, or go for the c section....the but the surgeon was leaving for the night and they said if there was an emergency they wouldn't be able to perform the c section fast enough so they ended up going for the c section...anyways got off track a bit there lol but she had a leap done when she was younger (I think that's what it was...they removed cells from her cervix that could have become cancerous), so that's why she thinks she couldn't dilate at all! @kattastrophe

But how much of that was active labor? I had a slow start at home, I was having regular braxton hicks from two days before, then the night before bloody show and contractions picked up and were crampy all day, then 2am water broke and got to the hospital at 3am and was 4cm, so that's "technically" when active labor hit, after that she was out 1.5 hours later at 4:32am! @kattastrophe

i woke up in the early dark hours of the day with consistent contractions 5 minutes apart at 3 cm until they broke my water for me 24 hours from start, then about 10 hours after breaking the water I gave birth. her dad was annoyingly adamant about timing it lol!!... everything I've read doesn't measure "active labor" by cm exactly labor is labor, people can dilate and then close up again, so it's not very accurate.

I had Braxton hicks before that, those were definitely different. the Braxton hicks actually leveled me and made me scared about labor, but labor was a whole other ballgame
