I had no choice on enrolling him early but I do have a choice on keeping him back and I am allowing him to do so. I hope you see much improvement in your sons learning and he starts to exceed in the areas he isn't good at.

@tiffrae, my son stayed back in kindergarten I actually chose to do that bc like yours he was young. his first day of kindergarten was his 5th birthday....I wish I didn't put him in so soon.

I would of done the same thing if they were being that slow. my son is in speech but will be evaluated each year to help him. He is just slower at processing information compared to his peers. he will stay back to boost that confidence in him (he is the baby of his class) he turned 5 literly days before kindergarten started so it's best for him to stay back.

@tiffrae, oh I was the school psychologist got involved and everything....they evaluated him twice I guess 3rd times the charm especially since the last meeting I brought my mother in law who worked at a school in the special education unit. I told them if something doesn't change soon and my son doesn't get the help I know he needs I'll be pulling him out and teaching him myself, but I didn't really want to do that bc he loves his friends and likes school just can't grasp certain subjects. I'm thankful they finally took their heads out of their asses

Holy crap it took 2 years. I would of been talking to the school board and head of special education about that.

@lexirosex3, yeah that's bullshit.....we know our children. I pray your son gets the help he deserves.

@mantha823, I've spoken to the principal Friday and she said she would call me on Monday and it's Wednesday and I haven't heard from her. I will be calling the school tomorrow and if not I will be definitely taking further actions! I swear the schools now a days are ridiculous.. Like my son has to be held back a year because they won't listen to the fact that he needs help! Like I'm so over their nonsense.

it's crap it's like are they really there to help our children learn or just continually try to make me put my child on medicine.....no thank you his doctor said he shows no signs of it. He finds certain subjects at school hard so instead of frying his brain and getting angry bc he just can't comprehend it he plays with his pencils etc.....@lexirosex3 Have you gone to the school board?

My son is the same he's 7 years old I'm trying to get the school to evaluate him smh and they're giving me a hard time! His teacher said she was going to fail him and he'd be in 1 st grade next year like WTF!?
