So after my husband was laid off on April Fool's, things looked pretty grim for a bit. But because I'm on maternity leave we got expedited approval for SNAP, and will hopefully get our card next week. Unfortunately, only I qualified because my husband lost his job, and we'll only get enough for me and the baby. I realized Sam's Club takes SNAP, though, so we'll make a trip to the city and try to get as much as we can with the amount they give us. I'll also go apply for WIC as soon as the little man arrives. Hopefully my husband can get his unemployment so we can pay our bills and not fall behind until I go back to work. Things are still rocky, but I'm not quite as scared. I like to think the universe doesn't throw us anything we can't handle... 🍀

@baby_lillis, Yea he got laid off pretty much in the worst possible way. A week to my due date, on freaking April Fools. But we're figuring it out.

@gingyrex, oooooh ok... dang that sucks!!! hey, at least you got food stamps and can still apply for WIC.
The process here is really long, takes a week usually to get it and I'm due this weekend. Then you have to reapply when the baby arrives so the WIC office said there wasn't much point in going through the entire process twice in two weeks. @babymay2016 @baby_lillis @rielynsmommy
girl you can get WIC now... they gave mine the same day.
Why don't you apply for WIC now? You can be approved the same day and they will give you food vouchers for yourself before baby is here!
