Any mamas out there with costochondritis? I've had it for nearly 12 years. It never bothered me too much during my other pregnancies. But this time around, I'm beyond miserable. I get to the point I am gasping for air. Doctor said there really isn't much to do for it. I've tried every home remedy one could think of....the only thing that gives temporary relief is acetaminophen and an ice pack on my chest. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

@jmr88 it is the inflammation of the cartilage that connects your ribs to your breastbone. It's super painful and makes it very hard to take a deep breath. It causes my whole body to ache.

ohh wow!!doesnt sound fun at all.will be thinking about ya..hope u get some relief.. does it just happen when you are pregnant or just worse through out pregnancy

I've had it for years. There's been no rhyme or reason for why it flares it. It never bothered me with the other 3 pregnancies. Just has been unbearable this time around!! I'm hoping someone somewhere has some magic home remedy I haven't tried yet! And at this point, I'll do anything!!!

Are there tests for it?? I've been having pain in my chest on and off for years, once in a while. it hurts to breathe, talk, move.. Deep breaths are terrible! I went to the emergency room for it and they couldn't figure it out! the last few weeks of pregnancy it's been terrible :(

I am not quite sure @fallon_fairytale I was diagnosed about 12 years ago. I do know it's hereditary. My mom and grandmother both have it. So it was kind of a given I would some day. It's aweful. Almost as bad as my gallbladder pain. I don't wish either on anyone!

Yikes I'm sorry! I just wish I knew what this was. D: they tell me to take tylenol but it doesn't help any. if you find a cure, let me know!

So I had to go back to the hospital today and the doc says I have Costochrondritis as well. I guess I just joined the club -.- blah. Nothing to do except take tylenol and use heat or ice I guess.

I was told I had costichrondritis last year after a few doctors appointments. I feel like it is starting to bother me now. I can't sit at my desk at work to long without feeling like everything is being squished up under my boobs. It is sore right now right I between my boobs. I hate this feeling sooo much.
