I know I'm probably getting annoying to some of you but I'm a first time mom so here's yet again ANOTHER questions...
My baby girl is 3 days old is it normal for her to sleep like A lot? It's hard to wake her up to eat when she's supposed to eat every 2-3 hours and sometime she doesn't really eat a lot either.
I put her on the boob she'll suck for a bit then sleep or sometimes just have the boob in her mouth and sleep.. I just kinda feel like a bad mom or something. Am I just overthinking it and going nuts or could something be wrong and should take her in??

Shes a newborn, its completely normal, as long as shes getting some milk and having wet diapers, shes fine

It's normal for newborns to sleep a lot. And when it's time to eat they will fall asleep while they are eating. To keep them awake while eating just move them a little or tickle behind the ear or feet. My daughter was hard to keep awake while eating too.

@hhmariah, alright. When I was at the hospital they kinda made it seem like her sleeping so much was a bad thing. So I was/am worried.

It is if shes not eating. newborns are supposed to have 1-1.5oz an hour. but, some babies don't eat a whole lot the first few days, just keep and eye on the wet diapers. Try everything you can to keep her awake during feedings like @mrsstewart said.

perfectly normal, heck my son still sleeps a lot and hes 5 months, also my sons doctor thinks a lot like me, I fed on demand, like when he was hungry not every couple hours (unless he wanted it) I never woke him to eat. He also still falls asleep while eating!

When I pump and feed her it's usually where the red line is sometimes a little less. Is that good or should there be more?

I agree with the above comments. Also having her in just a diaper can help to wake her for feedings. My doc had told me as long as it wasn't more then 4 hours without eating that baby is fine. If baby goes more then 4 hours without eating they said we would need to have sugars checked. My guy would get close to the 4 hour mark but then would wake and feed. I'm sure you are doing great momma! Hang in there! :)

Does she have a good latch?

I wouldnt worry about it, only time I'd worry is if shes having less than 5 wet diapers a day

Thank you guys. I worry a tad much. But yes she latches on really good but likes to just have the boob sit in her mouth and I will start messing with her so she'll suck but sometimes she wont. So then I'll pump so she'll get something for that time period. Otherwise I feel she would probably sleep all day @hhmariah @mrsstewart @xoxo512070 @sea528

as long as she has wet dipers, when my baby was born i was worried about that too cause she sleept through the night and scare me, i pumped if she didnt wake up to eat so i didn't leak through.

@mini anlang, how about poops? And it is indeed scary. Know that I know this next time instead of worrying I could get a little sleep. Lol
