So did I around 35 weeks hehe, he came 2 weeks early too. It's pretty rare to have posterior birth like me so don't be scared. Midwives assured me my next one would be much better. Hopefully it's a smooth and quick one for you! @lauraf89

@lauraf89, @shivvy you'll know at the time :) it was a last resort for me.

Sounds like you had a very extreme experience @carlyanaya I was just gunna see how I can manage without it but have the option there if I need. If my labour is anything like yours I would take it in an instance though!

I did not want one, I was too worried about it stressing bubs and I also wanted to feel the pushing. My labour ended up being ridiculously long.. About 28 hours. Baby was posterior so wasn't coming :( the gas made me feel worse and by about the 20 hour stage I felt like I was going to die. Was vomiting by this stage and couldn't deal so I said if nothing progresses within the next half hour I want an epidural!! Just skip the morphine please!! About 2 hours later they gave it to me and it saved me. I could control the dosage so when I started to feel the pain come back I could top myself up. I think the anesthetist did a fantastic job. I did start throwing up even more but that didn't worry me at that stage. Took that night to be able to fully walk again but felt fine afterward. I also didn't feel completely numb down there when I pushed so that was a good thing for me. Only problem was you don't feel the pushing like normal so I tore quite badly hit honestly by that point you don't care and I had to push like crazy any way to be able to get him out.
