that's weird I remember the last time I got it the guy said he was giving me a little over 10 ml and it worked like a charm. I never had the IV pain meds I had the evil pitocin lol
I liked my iv, because it let me sleep, but it made me so groggy after I hated it the epidural I didn't really like either. it helped but made me feel weird
I don't wanna pump myself full of meds if they aren't going to work but I don't have much time to prepare mentally if I were to go all natural. 36 weeks!
I guess I should've put more info first lol this is my second pregnancy and I had two epidurals with my first and they did not work. I felt everything even when they stitched me up after wards. @their.bomb.ass.mom which did you like more? I guess I am more curious on how the IV compares to the epidural. Thank you!
I ended up trying to get iv meds and it literally worked for like 5 min and went away but I also got induced so my contractions were way worse then if you just went into normal labor I ended up getting the epidural it hurts for a second but no where near as bad as the contractions I still felt giving birth to my daughter but all women are different it only hurt for about a month after I got it and went away I have no back problems at all.
Omg I loved my epidural. right away it made me feel like my body was drunk and it took all pain away for HOURS! it didn't hurt me at all and I'm a huge baby when it comes to pain. only part I didn't like was 2 months after birth I am still sore where it went in. not a huge deal tho! that's just my story!
I had both and loved them, the epidural numbs from the waist down con's, it could fail. iv pain meds make you feel like you're high and kind of out of it, cons, well you feel like you're high and some women like to be all there during that time.
