So I have this appointment today to get my food stamps back because I'm an able bodied adult without dependents. Ive tried to explain I'm only on food stamps due to the fact that apparently running into burning buildings and pulling out people or putting out fire is frowned upon while you're pregnant. So... Let's take a two hour class to tell me how I can get a job when I have 3 just not physically able to do them right now.

How stupid is this...In illinois...I work 25ish hours a week and get $100/month yet my boyfriend whom didn't have a job at the time gets $200/month. How much sense does that make and I'm the pregnant one. I was mad. I don't feel entitled or that I should get that much but it's like really? That's why my state is in so much debt because they give them to people with no job and here I bust my ass to make end meet. SMH!
i tried while i was pregnant and my doctors told me i couldn't work. Foodstamp people told me that i could work at least 26 hours a week. I was astounded. My husband had to pick up all kinds of hours and most he didnt get because i was in and out the hospital. I just left it alone really.
I thought it didn't apply to pregnant women... I read it said that pregnant women or women with small kids would get them regardless
Yea but they don't seem to understand that. So here I am going to this thing at 830 in the morning to learn how to get a job.
not just that, your about to have the baby soon, and can't work for a while when you do.
So i don't qualify for emergancy food stamps mean while we have no food😠😡😠😡
Finally got my food stamps situated. Still don’t have power so I still have to wait to get food. But at least it’s fixed
So we have no food in our house and no money so whatever we had I let my husband and kids eat. I'm so hungry. I haven't eaten since yesterday. I wish we weren't so behind on rent. Next week we have to pay our phone bill and the week after we have to pay rent again. I'm so sick on not being able to have food in our home.
damn I'm so pissed we got denied food stamps my husband and I and our 3 kids because he makes to "much" money NOO he makes enough to pay for us to get by food stamps could help us so much since now we have a newborn but nooo and it pisses me off even more that I know people with no kids getting them...
Does anyone who gets food stamps know how long it takes to replace a card? Ours went missing and we're supposed to get ours tomorrow. I think we have a weeks supply of food left and I'm feeling like a failure as a mom cuz I lost it 😭😭😭
Yea so I just sat through a 2 hr long class for them to tell me oh you're pregnant? You're exempt from this class. Thanks. I wish you would of said that when I called the other two times to tell you guys that.. Even worse y'all had that I am pregnant in your system.
