ringing the midwifes today... still haven't heard from any of them... I keep getting uti symptoms and doctors keep telling me midwife will Contact soon but still nothing... do you all think I should wait or call them. .. ill be 10 weeks this weekend and not 1 appointment or anything ????

It's normal to not have had an appointment yet but chase them about the uti

Ring I would, I had my first appointment at 8 weeks, they should've contacted you by now surly as you should have a 12 week scan in two weeks and that's not even booked yet, so I would chase them up @babyno2 xxx

thanks ladies... its so hard getting hold of anyone around here lol just left a message on answerphone of my actuall midwife after speaking to loads of different people and finnally getting her number lol so I'll explain about the uti when she rings... I had docs appointment over 3 weeks ago and was put on antibiotics but due to morning sickness I was unable to keep at least half down so really need to talk to someone as my docs is useless xx

Drink lots of fluid my dear... and if you could, get some cranberry juice as well, I've been drinking it this week and it helps. 😊

Oh yeah, just remembered. My last pregnancy (which ended in an blighted ovum unfortunately), I had UTI symptoms and I just rang my GP for an appt and I went to see her, she had my urine tested on the spot in the clinic. does your GP offer that service? @babyno2

yes they do but it's a 2 weeks wait for appt at least.. they don't class it as emergency @mioaurellia

Omg that's terrible... @babyno2 if it really is getting on your nerves, best to go to A&E , they can refer you to the pregnancy unit to get test done.

What I know of past experiences is that u can't go to the midwife unit until your around 22 weeks so they just tell u to go straight to A&E and than A&E will keep u waiting for hrs and that they'll take a urine sample and blood sample and tell u the results and if it is a uti they just give u antibiotics there isn't much they can do they don't wanna put baby at risk
