haven't been on here in awhile due to having a newborn. But I need some help/advice. I know constipation for newborns is very common however, she screams & cries & will strain until her face turns red. She is in so much pain and it breaks my heart. I have tried the drops of Karo syrup in the bottle, the rectal thermometer to stimulate her, & adding more water than formula to her bottle. I have called her doctor but all they tell me is its normal but I can't stand seeing my baby like this. Any suggestions?? 😕
It's so hard I understand no amount of anything but the change in formula helped. She would just scream I ended up getting these children's wax suppositories from CVS. Didn't do anything to loosen it but whatever was in them made her poop within minutes.
@knh213, with my daughter I had to go to soy. She's not lactose intolerant now at 8. But something with her little tummy as a baby couldn't handle regular formula. As she got older I did half normal and half soy. Gradually increased the normal and close to a year old she was fine.
I've done the similac sensitive that worked for a few days.. but now were back on advance @34466
There may be to much iron if she's on formula. If you are breastfeeding her tummy may not agree with something in your diet. I went through hell with my daughter with milk issues. Just had to change them up and eventually found the right one.
