33 weeks today ❤️ Having a tough time deciding between epidural & other pain management options 😐
I had an epidural but it didn't work, I'm guessing because I was already 7/8cm and it didn't have time.. it was a last resort because I was so tired and had been up since the morning before. but before that, I got the demoral thru the iv, it only takes the edge off and lasts 4 hours or so..
I hope that doesn't happen with me 😩 I feel like I'll be such a wimp once I start feeling contractions lol. But thanks mama. @lovelycin09
well I was induced so I had pain meds till they got me to 3cm. but after that I had an epidural. I had it because they had to do a breech extraction with baby B. also with twins I couldn't get up, so I was stuck in the bed till I had them. with 1 baby they can monitor their heartbeat while you walk around, however with 2 babies they don't have a machine to monitor both. so not being able to walk to take my mind of the contractions it woulda been bad lol! so with all those factors that's why I had an epidural. it wasn't to bad, I didn't have any back pain afterwards, it worked great and I was still able to kinda move my legs to help them and had no trouble pushing lol. but everyone is different. but that was just my experience.
I tried the epidural with both of my pregnancies and it didnt do much but numb my ass and legs lol the contractions were still the same basically i got it for nothing if i wouldve known i wouldve do it all normal. Plus them sticking you with a needle in th back while having strong contractions and you cant move is helll lol But its up to you everybody is different is the worst pain ever (not trying to scare you) after the baby is out you feel such a relief and no more pains. Good luck 😊
I feel like that's what's going to happen, I'm too indecisive lol. What did you decide with your babies?
You can always do like my doc said, go in and feel a contraction or two (a good contraction) and make your decision after that. find out what your hospital "rules" are. some won't let you get an epidural after 8cm some are 9cm. so it gives you a lil time to decide. lol. so if you do natural, then are like no gimme meds you have time and if meds aren't working for you then you can be like "where do I sign! I want an epidural" lol!
demoral I'm not sure because I was tired anyway and I was dosing off when they gave it to me, but I don't think it did anything to the baby.
