I was soooo swollen after my c section. It started to get better around 7-8 days and gone by day 10. Around day 8 I would wake up soaked in sweat and I never sweat but then the swelling got better
@sarahdrew, I had preeclampsia that caused my son to come so early. I am still on Bp meds - they said by day 7 it should be improving. So I'm just drinkin my water and hoping!!
that may be.... if it hasn't gone away by your 1 week appointment I would make them listen to you the swelling shouldn't last that long I wouldn't think... you can also get pre-eclampsia after birth (I think I read that) so keep an eye on your blood pressure
@jessd1988, it's my legs that are swollen beyond belief. It hurts more than my incision :(. Since I had preeclampsia I can't take ibuprofen still :(! They told me the swelling in my legs and feet is normal but ouch :(
Poor thing..I know it's tough with a newborn. try to rest as much as possible. Can you ice the incision to help with swelling? I know your not using narcotics but ibuprofen for swelling could help

@sarahdrew, I swear if that swelling would go away my pain would be nonexistent.

it's probably still from the iv fluids, try and walk as much as you can, if you can't just move your legs around....
