Why Do Some Single Moms Shame Women with Supportive Partners?
I can't believe I've had conversations with women who are single moms who actually have tried to make me feel bad or naive about having a boyfriend who is actually very excited to be a father and to support his daughter in every way. Like, I truly admire any woman who has had to go through any part of motherhood alone. It often brings me to tears feeling so grateful that I have an amazing man by my side who is constantly telling and showing me that everything is going to be okay. But don't try to make me feel like I am a weaker woman just because I have the support from my baby's father. It is not fair for any man to leave the woman he created a life with, but it is also not fair for a woman to shame another woman for having a different story than her.

one of the most recent convos was with a coworker, she asked if my boyfriend was excited and I told her yeah he has been great and I'm so thankful for him and he's so excited to be a father. and she literally rolled her eyes and was like "yeah I bet you're not the first woman to hear that from a man" 😐

My fiancé is stoked of the arrival of our child but I feel your pain. Went to Walmart and I was feeling the baby kick and he stopped and started rubbing my belly. I got stares and heard the woman say "he isn't gonna take care of it" . Like how can you judge someone you don't know? He won't let me get a job due to doctors advising against it. He is pulling all the weight at his job. And he was devastated when we were told I couldn't have kids (yeah doctors were obviously wrongs lol). He has bought the baby's things that don't need gender to buy. And he is excited. Ignore them. Just because they have had bad experiences doesn't mean everyone does

@lexximarie wow. yeah I hate to accuse them of being bitter, but that's kinda what it seems like. it just really is disappointing when women feel the need to tear each other down. like nothing about motherhood is easy for anyone, so we should all be supporting each other regardless of their situation or how we feel about it. smh.

People are extremely bitter . & that really upsets me . Was a single mom for 7 years . & I don't act like that . Never have & never will ! People go through something & think that everybody else is the same way . Smh . The world we live in. 🤔

Don't listen to them. I am not married to my fiancé yet and I get crap about it. but its none of their business. if he loves you and wants to take care of you dont worry.
