depends on the job I guess I have a union job we get paid for maternity leave I'm on bedrest with disability for six months then maternity pay for 12,week's after I have the babys

It really depends on the state (which I think is crazy.) and place of work. I got 6 weeks before my date for "payed disability", and then another 12 weeks after the birth for my payed maternity leave. Granted, the maternity leave wasn't my full pay, but 40% of my usual pay. That was in California.

the affordable care act gives you 12 weeks unpaid, as long as your employer has over 50 employees and you've worked there for 12 months....
