I'm so scared that next week at my appointment that I am going to get out on bed rest. I keep getting random vertigo, with no rhyme or reason about when it happens, and it makes me sick and dizzy for the rest of the day. I can't function being so dizzy, all I can do is sit there. I would go crazy on bed rest, I love working, and I would likely end up losing my job once the 12 weeks of time off from fmla is up. At this point that only puts me at about 4 weeks post partum. I am freaking out.
@showersoverflowers, not many people experience real vertigo, so I wasn't sure :-) I'm glad you were able to work through it, hopefully I will be able to find a way to keep it at bay as well.
yes, the room spins like crazy and I can't focus which is why it helps for me to close my eyes. I'm a teacher so I know how hard it cane be. I also know how hard bed rest is. ultimately, you have to do what is best for yourself. I actually had to get a note for me to continue to work because of liability reasons. nothing really helps it. I have other symptoms along with mine so most of the time I'm able to sense whether or not it's going to be rough that day so I'm able to plan ahead. all you can do is talk with the doctor
Did you get actual vertigo @showersoverflowers ? I'm just curious because with vertigo it doesn't just make you light headed or dizzy, it makes your eyes spasm in a way that the room appears to be spinning around you, like if you were spinning in circles really fast. closing my eyes actually makes that sensation worse, because my body doesn't have the ability to reorient itself without using my eyes. it's an inner ear imbalance that makes it so your body doesn't know which way is up on its own. I appreciate the advise, and I do want to try to work through it, but it's not safe for me to move at all when it's happening. I work with the public all day, and I need to be able to visibly keep it together if I'm at work, if I can't do that... well, they won't want me to fall over or vomit on a customer, and my boss if very concerned for my safety.
I have managed to work with issues like this for 20 weeks. it can definitely be troublesome! I don't drive anymore because I do faint from time to time. I suggest sitting as soon as it comes on. Some times it helps, other times it doesnt. If it comes on while sitting, lay your head down and close your eyes for a bit. I'm not on bed rest but I was for my first baby with the same symptoms. I just made it clear to my doctor I wanted to manage it not have it manage me. (my symptoms are. related to poor heart function during pregnancy)
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
