A couple years ago, I was married to someone who cheated after 6 whole months of marriage. His mom blamed me and said it was my fault because he'd come home from work to dishes not done and me asking him to help with the baby....mind you, I was working as well and the dishes weren't done from the dinner I had waiting on the table made from scratch. My fiance now is a dream....but I still can't shake what my ex mother in law told me..that I deserved to be cheated on. I am trying to do more around the house, I have dinner ready on the table when he comes home most nights, dishes and laundry when I can, but I just had a baby 2 weeks ago and I'm breastfeeding, so most of the time I am being used as a human pacifier. I even put her in a wrap today so I could get the dishes done, but I still get mild panic attacks that what I'm doing isn't enough and he'll have cause to cheat on me too or leave me.

That's a lame excuse to cheat and his mom is just ridiculous to enable that behavior. Now a real man would understand with s new baby he may come home and dinner may not be on the table, the house maybe messy. Your not totally just neglecting to do these things.

@emily18234, that is the most awful thing I've ever heard! That woman must be psychotic to say that to you! You are doing everything you can, and yes that is more than "good enough" you are being so tough on yourself! Your fiancé sounds like a good man and I am sure he appreciates everything you are doing!

@angiek, thank you. even when I was pregnant, I felt like I wasn't doing anything and he would reassure me and tell me "your job is to grow that baby". Now, he tells me the job is to rest and to make milk, and whenever he cones home he asks if I got a nap and will still get up with our baby at night. I just don't feel like I deserve it

Wow that's so messed up! If every man had that excuse I think they'd all slip up eventually. Really? Your fault? That's ridiculous. He failed you, broke your trust, broke the vows you made to each other. No excuse for the betrayal of your trust! Guess she couldn't face the facts of who's fault it really was. You're doing great in fact you're doing awesome! You work and come home, cook and clean. You're incredible! Don't forget it. His loss! Best wishes on your little family ☺️
