I have a question. Has anyone else's job make them resign when they were supposed to go on maternity leave due to not being there? My job that I've been at for 7 months on April 14. They want me to write a resignation letter stating I am resigning due to pregnancy. Has anyone else been through this or have any suggestions? Thank you!!

@calebsmommy1121, don't worry about it. @chichi1975 I told them that I won't sign it. I'm just waiting to hear back on what they are going to do now.

@krstokes2016, Sorry about what you went through. At least they are letting you go back afterwards. @scc2413 I hope they let your cousin go back after! @maybabyboy they said that they would still give me unemployment even if I write the letter but I feel as if they just want me to sign it to get out of paying unemployment. I just get worried since the aren't hiring now. Which I don't get why they are telling me I can reapply when I'm ready to come back when they aren't hiring. @supermommy31082 did they let you go back since you didn't sign the papers!

the resignation letter could be so they don't have to pay unemployment, you should just ask your boss why they're asking you to submit that. however, if you have worked there less than a year by the time you give birth, then they don't have to save your job for you while you're on leave, since you have to have worked somewhere 12 months to qualify for fmla. so, maybe they are requesting the letter so you will have a positive status with the company if you ever try to get rehired.

yes my job did and not in so many words my boss said he couldn't guarantee my position but he may have work for me as the receptionist and my position is higher than that I was promoted from that so I don't think its fair cause he knew I was having a baby and I been at my job a year but they don't offer any benefits so he offered me 2 weeks severance pay while I'm out I my mind I'm like well you only get that if your terminated or laid off and that basically what happened sucks so bad I don't even wanna go back because I did so much for that company in 1 dam year
