I tested positive for group b strep, what exactly does this mean? all they told me is I have to take antibiotics when I go into labor. and that I have to stay in the hospital for 48 hours.

Not to my knowledge, no. It shouldn't change anything other than having to have an I.V with antibiotic during labor.

does it heighten your chances of going into early labor, do you know? @angelmama12

Nothing to worry about..I tested positive with my daughter and they give you the antibiotic during labor to prevent passing it to the baby at birth.

I have this too. I am actually having to take a medicine for it bc they have tried other med already and it didn't help. I will also have to be on IV meds during labor. It's so the baby can't get the infection.

I tested for it yesterday, and won't get my results until next week I guess.. But my doctor said it just means your a carrier for strep, but it's not like an std or anything.. Idk if I misunderstood but she didn't make it seem like it was anything to concerning! Not too sure though like I said
