What kinda dog is he? I have two dogs, trust me, I know the feeling! One is pad trained and older but the younger one is bigger and goofy! Drives me nuts!!!!!!

If you dont have time to train or take care of him its best to find someone who has the time. I used to work as a dog trainer. And nothing gets me then people saying there dog is bad or misbehaved all because they had lack of time to train their dog. All pups can be good and can learn quickly. It just takes patience and time.

Well that's a the main part of your problem!!! Puppies have to go out way more often than adult dogs because their bladder is small and is not fully in their control. Tearing up pads can be a strong red flag telling you the pup needs more mental and physical stimulation- often caused by too little exercise. Want a well behaved pup? Exercise the crud out of them!

you have to treat him like you would a toddler. he needs to go outside every hour or he's never going to learn that its not OK to go in the house. discipline him when he does something bad, rub his nose in it and spank his butt (yes its OK to spank a puppy in training), reward him when he's good. you have to have patience with him. to him, you are his mother

You have to be patient with them. You have to invest time in teaching them how to behave and where to go. I have a dog who I potty trained, and taught tricks and taught how to behave inside the house all before she was 6 months old. They're such smart animals and they catch on quickly but it's up to us to give them the time of day. She's 6 years old now btw and still will not use the bathroom inside and very well behaved.

I had a high energy dog and on rainy days I would use a laser point it at the floor and have him run back and forth chasing it ... He loved it !! Give it a try

he's a shih tzu Pomeranian mixed but i have anothet one thats a full shih tzu and has no energy like the little one does. i try to do the training but he either gets distracted or rather lay on the floor once he gets "tired"

only reason why i let him use the bathroom in a pad is because we live in an apartment and going out really late at night is something i wont do more of the fact we have seen coyotes at night and we live around weridos...

i have done the nose thing and spanking him in the butt.. the worst part is that he knows when hes in trouble and he is doing wrong because the moment i look at him when he did something bad he hids... so its not that he doesnt know. he knowsss!.

and im not saying he is misbehaved or is bad. he just knows when he is doing bad but does it anyway... i have never seen so much energy in a dog like mine...

Did you try treats? Rewarding him when he does good. Buy a cage as well to keep him in and use that as a punishment.

Also when you see him about took to the restroom, quickly grab him and take him to where he should be going. I use to spank my dog in the butt and quickly put her out.

Well being in an apartment doesnt make a difference. Its still making the time for him. Puppies are like toddlers they wont pay attention if it doesnt interest him. Treat and short times of training work best. Couple mins serve times a day. Treat like $1 hot dogs. No fancy expensive dog treat. Its all about how you manage your time and if you can honestly say its not in the cards because of work or time management it answers your question.

you have to continue doing that so that he learns not to go in the house. he's a puppy, he's going to have lots of energy. I've got a blue tick - pit mix. he's highly energetic and I've had him since he was 5 weeks old. I did the whole potty training process exactly how I said for months. he's now almost 2 and can go 12 hours without peeing in the house. he doesn't get into things as much as he used to and when he does, he gets put in my room for a couple hours and then he's good again. get a crate I'd you don't already have one and use that for training
