You can get the FMLA leave as well as baby bonding time which will be 3 or 4 months

yeah im a cna so its alot of lifting and many people can definitely do it until they pop but every one is different I couldn't do it . it was way to much pressure down there for me ... it is really confusing because maternity leave is 6 weeks only but you can also take family bonding time idk if thats every where or not but im still confused I just know 12 weeks for fmla then 6 weeks for maternity leave . but I think once you can go on maternity leave you will basically get what you asked for im going on maternity leave on may 20 and won't go back to work till August 2nd @norms1685

Ok thank you @monilove805 I work in a calling center so I don't have many restrictions here. I have a follow up next week and will ask my doctor but I would love to take 2 weeks before birth and when the baby is here I would like to spend at least 2 months and a half, I am ok with it not being paid. But I was wondering if I had to go through my doctor first or HR to get an idea

im on fmla right now been on it since I was 25 weeks my doc gave me a restricted 30lbs no more and my work wouldnt accommodate with that so they didnt allow me to go back to work im on it for 12 weeks nonpaid and cant go on maternity leave until I hit 36 weeks but every doc is different

you can take up to 12 weeks of fmla leave. it depends on what your doctor recommends that you take.

I had to fill out FMLA Paper work for my first pregnancy for maternity leave. Because it's for a medical reason. Typically they only allow 6weeks of leave because that's the minimum time needed for medical recovery from birth.
