At what age do you stop allowing an opposite gender child to go to the bathroom with parent. For example Fathers taking their daughters to the bathroom or mothers taking their sons. I ask this because I have noticed adolescents boys in women restrooms.

I would say around 4/5 they should be fine on there own with the parent at the door waiting

When they can safely get in and out and handle they business with out help I think. For my son I let him go into the men's restroom at 7. I would wait outside for him though. We also had the discussion about private parts and stranger danger ect.

well my sons 11 and he is not going in the ladies room I stand close by the men's room and wait for him but when he was about 8 or 9 he stopped coming on the ladies room because he got taller and he honestly thought it was gross he's like mom imma boy I don't wanna pee with the girls lol

I honestly plan to stop at 5 or 6 but I'll be waiting by the bathroom for him if his dad isn't there to go in or wait for him

my daughter does not go in the boys bathroom and my son was probably 6/7 when he started going by himself into the boys bathroom and I would stay by the door unless of course dad is there then obviously he goes with him

My son is 5, will be 6 in October and he still goes to the women's restroom with me. He protest about it sometimes but he is still too little in my opinion and I won't risk it. Maybe after he starts school this year, I will switch to just standing guard at the door.
