Right ladies. my induction is tomorrow. Please please please give me some good stories about how you went in for.induction and had the baby the same day!! I hate hospitals and don't want induction to last for days :( xxx
I had the pessary at 10pm Thursday, had it removed at 11pm,contractions all night, got took to labour Ward at 6.30am,waters we're broken at 7.15am and he was born at 7.56am xx
@bambi16, I got induced five weeks ago, went into hospital on 22nd Feb at 2pm to be induced, I had a few complications with the paperwork so I didn't get seen untill 5pm, by which time I was already 2-3cm so she gave me a sweep (didn't need a pessary) and I went for a wander around the hospital, I was checked at 9.30pm and I was 3cm so I was sent up to the delivery suite, they broke my waters at 10.38pm and my contractions were strong, I went and had a bath to relax, by which time it was 12am ish, I was checked again by my midwife and I was 6cm and at 2.12am on the 23rd Feb my baby boy was here, my first pregnancy/birth and I did it all on gas and air and pethidine, I only had the pethidine as I have bad hips and a slipped disc in my spine and I couldn't move my hips, my midwife was lovely and just listen to what they say and you will be fine, all the pain is forgotten once you hold your precious little baby, I also swear by walking!! Im positive that's what started to get my cervix open xxx
I had my pessary inserted at 12pm and gave birth at 4:45 am. Saying this my waters were broken aprrox 2am so technically labour doesn't start until waters are broken. The contractions I had leading up to the break I found quite easy least if I'm honest. I had a fab Mid-Wife, and as long as you push when they say push and stop when they say stop and so on, it will go just fine. Or that's how my experience of it went anyhow. It's painful of course but I enjoyed the whole experience xx
Thank you @baby316 and you ladies have settled my panicked mind haha I'm so scared ill be in forever and I really don't want to be! Thank you @tuftyturtle @tg123456789 and @duchess92 xxx
I was induced at 37 weeks so was terrified it would take days. She examined me before putting the pessary in and said my cervix was hard, closed and at the back. I basically thought induction was going to fail as I was early. my baby was born 9 hours after the pessary was inserted. I went from 2-10 cm in less than 30 minutes!
I have not been induced before but wanted to wish you luck. I'm 40+5 today and having sweep Friday but if that doesn't work I may be joining you in having to be induced. Wish you lots of luck x
