Am I the only one that thinks its annoying when some women call their boyfriends parents "In Laws(MIL FIL)"? like unless…

I'm engaged and I still don't call them my in laws yet. Maybe I'm just weird? Idk lol

Lol I completely agree with you & I won't either. It's never occurred to me to call them that specifically because we aren't actually married yet

@kelseys, I do it. I don't need paper to make it "proper" for me lol. I'm not gonna sit & say "Joeys mom" when I can just call her my MIL.

my boyfriend tries to call my parents his in laws and I'm just like how about not, they're not your in laws because we're not married. or he will refer to me as his wife and I get so bothered and have to say um no I'm not, I'm your girlfriend. It bothers me that he thinks he can just claim me as his Wife and we are not even legally married. sorry buddy, there may be a ring on it, but we are not actually married and you can enjoy calling me wife when we are! Lol

I'm that annoying person that calls my boyfriend's parents my in laws. We been together for 6 almost 7 years, we just don't want to get married right now.

Weird to me too, but that's just what I've grown up with. Like, y'all aren't hitched-you can still escape your sign other's family rotfl!

I honestly think this is an opinion thing because its about how close you are to the family because I call my boyfriends parents mom and dad but its because we aren't thinking about marriage right now but his parents trip me like their daughter

@taiboos_mommy16, definitely an opinion lol because I don't think its wrong or right but its something that's weird to me because like @mommagotbump16 comments, that's just how I was brought up. but I get why you say it, but I kind of think its more weird when little teenage girls are saying.

I understand his parents are the first people I call that I wouldnt do it in a young relationship
